Heap: Kth Largest Element in a Stream
dsa · 25 min
Reached for a min-heap of size k almost immediately this time — the “pop the smallest when the heap grows past k” rule is finally automatic instead of something to re-derive.

List comprehensions vs generator expressions
python · 20 min
Second session logged for today — this is the two-topics-one-day pattern: same
dateas the DSA entry above, separate file, separate topic. Streaks and the calendar treat them as fully independent. -
Sliding Window: Longest Substring Without Repeats
dsa · 30 min
Cold attempt got the brute force in ~12 min but missed shrinking the window correctly. The “expand until invalid, then shrink” pattern is the trigger to remember next time.

Linked List: Reverse Linked List II
dsa · 20 min
Short session before the weekend. In-place reversal between two positions — the “dummy node before the sublist” trick made the pointer juggling much less error-prone.

Sliding Window: Longest Repeating Character Replacement
dsa · 35 min
Back after yesterday’s sick day. Rusty for the first ten minutes but the window-shrink pattern from last week’s problem carried over straight away — good sign it’s actually sticking.

Binary Search: Search in Rotated Sorted Array
dsa · 30 min
Kept mixing up which half is sorted. Drawing the array with a marker for mid before reasoning about it fixed that — will keep doing that for rotated-array problems.

Two Pointers: Container With Most Water
dsa · 25 min
Got to the O(n) two-pointer approach after sketching a few examples by hand. The “always move the shorter side” insight took a minute to click but feels solid now.
